How much does Minds cost? Cognition, monthly options and top-ups explained

Understand how Minds pricing works, what Cognition means, and how to compare monthly and one-time payment options without guessing task costs.

The short answer

Minds by Animoca Brands uses Cognition when a Mind reasons or uses tools. The pricing page currently shows US$10, US$25 and US$50 under Monthly and One Time. Choose by how often you expect to use a Mind, then test one representative task because Cognition use varies with the work and tools involved.

Minds does not publish a fixed task-to-Cognition conversion. Use the live product balance and purchase information as the final reference.

What is Cognition?

Cognition is how usage is measured when a Mind reasons or uses tools. A short request may use less than a multi-step assignment that requires research, analysis, several tool calls and a detailed output.

Consumption can vary with reasoning depth, tool use, source and output size, repeated checks and monitoring frequency. A purchase amount should not be read as a flat price per message or a guaranteed number of tasks.

Monthly or One Time: which should you choose?

One Time may fit when you are testing a Mind, working on an occasional project, have unpredictable usage or prefer to decide manually when to purchase again. Monthly may fit when you use a Mind regularly, expect a predictable cadence and want recurring purchase rather than manual top-ups.

Neither is automatically better value. Compare how Cognition is added, whether unused amounts carry forward, how often your workflow consumes it and what renewal and cancellation rules apply.

Estimate your own usage

Minds does not publish a universal cost per task. If you are still choosing a starting point, compare five One-Click Minds first. Then plan a representative workflow:

  1. Define one repeatable task, including input size, permitted sources, tools, output, revisions and frequency.
  2. Record the live balance immediately before running it.
  3. Run the task once without unrelated requests, including any clarification exchange.
  4. Record the ending balance and note the tools used.
  5. Test a smaller and a more complex version to create a practical range.

This is an observation of your current workflow, not a guarantee or a method for reverse-engineering a hidden rate. Platform behaviour and consumption may change.

How top-ups and payment checks work

Open the relevant Mind or account balance and choose the available purchase or top-up action. Before confirming, check the destination of the added Cognition, amount, currency, tax, total and whether the payment is one-time or recurring. Verify that the balance updated before restarting important work.

Also confirm what happens when Cognition runs low, whether the balance belongs to one Mind or is shared, whether Monthly renews automatically, how cancellation works and whether unused amounts carry forward. Use billing terms such as “subscription”, “refill” or “allowance” only when they match the live checkout and legal terms.

Manage Cognition responsibly

Give one Mind a clear role, a defined result and stop conditions, so you can see what that job uses before expanding it. Ask for clarification before widening research, adding a tool or starting a new stage. Run a recurring workflow manually before scheduling it, remove tools that are not needed and monitor early executions. These practices can improve predictability but do not guarantee a fixed amount of Cognition.

Pricing limits to understand

Prices, promotions, currencies, taxes, payment methods and included functionality can change. AI tasks can branch differently, so similar prompts do not guarantee identical consumption. Promotions may have eligibility or timing restrictions. Refund and cancellation rights depend on location, purchase and payment flow; the live terms and checkout disclosure take precedence.

Check current pricing

Choose by the job, not by an abstract allowance: run one representative task with one Mind, check the balance, then decide whether occasional or recurring use fits you. Do not rely on a fixed estimate the product does not publish.
